Politics as ussual!

So here we are in a recession that seems to refuse to break. People are out of work, losing their homes, losing their cars, watching their kids go to bed hungry.
Meanwhile the two political parties that are in a race to lead our "prosperous" country spend more than the gross national product of most third world countries for a year, in the span of a month.
And the truley amazing thing is that according to latest reports, more that 65% of the voters have already made up their mind who they will vote for. In my humble opinion, neither party deserves to be President of the United States. I do not believe either party has the best interest of the common citizen at heart. One side wants to screw us sideways and the other wants to screw us straight up.

No I do not think I can do a better job. Nor do I claim to know of a better system in the world. All i do know is what is going on does not work. It is BROKEN! And until we recognize that as a nation things will not get better.

I think that the common citizen expects too much from the Government. Natural disasters happen, its life. How in the hell is the Government responsible because you had piss poor planning when you built your house on a flood plain, or in a heavily wooded area in a fire prone area? Why is it the Governments fault that you are not employed? There are jobs open everywhere, Don't believe me??? Ask the Mexicans that are still pouring over our boarders to work and send our money out of country.
They are having no problems finding work. Well no, of course those jobs don't pay two hundred thousand a year... But they do pay! But then sitting on unemployment is much less effort while you whine, right?

You ask why big business is going overseas? Well that would be because the people overseas did not get fat and lazy during the boom era. They want to work, they are what this great Nation used to be... Hungry for success! Americans want their Government to fix everything. I actually heard a lady the other day say. "I wonder when the damn Government will realize we have a really bad draught, and do something about it..." Really??? What the hell is the Government going to do???

If you step back and take a hard look at things today, and think about your Grandparents hard work and inventiveness to get through the hard times. I think you would have to be truley embarrassed! They didn't blame the Government for anything, they rolled up their sleeves and kicked ass to insure a better life. The last couple generations have simply been amebas soaking up the past spoils, and now they sit in their little bubbles and have no earthly idea how to fix their own problems!

It's the Governments fault

The complaint stands... "The Government has not fixed the economy.." So in my mind that begs the question, what exactly could the Government do to fix YOUR economic issues? Is the President of the United States directly responsible because you have laid down on your couch and decided to wait for the "Government" to fix the fact that you don't have a job?
When are the people of this country going to remember that the Government was designed to work for the people? That does not mean to find you a means for support cause you looked on Craigslist and didn't see anything you liked. As Americans it is each of our responsibility as citizens to be the best that we can be and not to attempt to live off of the mass majority that are working for a living. The occupy movement was a prime example of people that were upset because " The Rcih Corporations" were getting all the money and little old me,  wasn't getting paid to stand around with a sign and smoke dope and pee in the public park. The ongoing arguement is that corporations are not people... Well if that is true then exactly how did the corporations form in the first place? Could it have been one hard working citizen who built a business and then added other hard working citizens to build a bigger business until it was big enough to support a whole bunch of hard working citizens? Or do you ignorant pot heads think that the government held a meeting of a bunch of special elitists and said " here is some money, go ahead and open a really big company and pay yourself allot of undeserved money so we can screw those guys in the park who are smoking pot and peeing on everything".
I think its sad that in these times which are obviously hard, that Americans cannot take responsibility for their own failings. Why did the economy crash in the first place? Greed! Not only corporate America, but each individual who was riding the bubble on credit. If you are holding credit cards with a larger balance than one month of your salary, you are part of the problem. If you bought a house that you knew was going to be outside of your means at any given time but decided that it can't happen to you, then you are part of the problem. If you lost your job and spent more than a year looking for the perfect job, instead of taking one or even two meanial jobs in order to survive, you are part of the problem. There is no excuse, there is no finger pointing. Many people have made it through this recession just fine, many started new businesses in the middle of this recession and made money. Many people got ahead during the worst recession in history, why, because the knew it was up to them to succeed. They recognized that in America, Land of the Free, it is not the Governments responsibility to support them. Because they have a certain pride in the fact that they din't need or want a hand out.
The one thing true about losers, is that they will always be losers. Pick anyone of the people complaining that the Government isn't doing enough for them and their needs, hand that person ten thousand dollars and tell them to go succeed. I gaurantee that same person will be back in less than thirty days complaining that the Government of some other entity caused them to spend all that money and they now need more. I guess its true what they say "You can't fix Stupid!"

They broke into my house!

Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, 'No! I like it here. It's better than my house. I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house). According to the protesters: You are Required to let me stay in your house You are Required to feed me You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan You are Required to Educate my kids You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family My husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest. (except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house And what a deal it is for me!!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior. Oh yeah, and I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! so that you can communicate with me. Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! America is populated and governed by idiots.

Who's fault is it anyway??

It was Carters fault, then it was Reagans fault, then it was Bush's fault, then Bill Clinton got crusified, followed by the "worst President in history" George W. Bush, Now its all Obama's fault! Now thats Americana! Blame anyone but me. Americans have the worst case of over indulgence and waste in the world. But when things go wrong we need someone to blame, anyone but ourselves. My father always forced us to look in the mirror when pointing a finger. It was a great lesson and one that I passed on to my children. Unfortunately it is not a popular way of doing things. How can the state of the whole world be one mans fault? Did someone accidentally give the President of the United States dictator powers when no one was looking? Did Congress and the House of Representatives go out of business when we were stuck in line at Starbucks buying our five dollars foo foo coffees in our overpriced foreign SUV's? I mean why buy American? Obama will bail them out, right? So if nothing is our fault and everything is the Presidents fault, then he must have elected himself... Someone please help me understand this reasoning, it isn't making sense to me. Who's fault is it anyway????

Is it the great recession?

Well today brought all kinds of neat observations. I had coffee with a friend today and while we sat with our coffee talking about the state of the economy it occurred to me, if this is the worst recession since the great depression then the great depression couldn't have been that bad. From my vantage point in the coffee shop I was able to see streams of high end cars and trucks delivering smiling, if not down right jovial shoppers to upper end stores and shops. The movie theater was packed and the four dollar fancy coffees were being poured at an astounding rate. I had a very tough time seeing this type of activity being common during the great depression. So what is this recession we are in? Is it a real shortage of money, or is it a mortal fear of spending money on things like credit card payments and loans. Because I didn't see anyone that seemed shy to fork over some serious dollars for fluff. By "fluff" I mean the things that you really don't need, such as the items at Macy's that you could by at Walmart, or the four dollar coffee verses the $1.49 plain coffee, or the $20.00 dollars it now costs for two people to go to the movies and the additional $20.00 dollars they get you for for two popcorns and two soda's. A stream of folks headed into the "Sunglasses" store... The cheapest sunglasses they have are around thirty bucks all the way up to four hundred dollars... Are you insane???? We sit on our fat arshes and blame the Government because we are having a tough time and then slink off for a forty dollar movie with a four dollar coffee and a side of four hundred dollar sunglasses? I wonder if Teddy Roosevelt would have found the sense of humor in this. What do you think?

Money is Tight

Well i had an observation today! Money is obviously tight all over, so the Government, in there infinite wisdom has decided that cuts need to be made in the Education system. Thats right folks in the education system... So the school district that my daughter is part of has decided to cut teachers, support staff, and admin staff... But they have accounts overflowing with monies earmarked for schools they want to build??? First off, EDUCATION? Why not trim some of the fat from state and local governments? How many assistant assistants do they need? How many secretaries? Or lets review the fact that school districts run 45 passenger buses for three or four students... Know why?? Because they have to burn up their budget so they can apply for another fat budget next year. But the Feds say cut back, so they cut back on staff because thats easier than cutting back on the cool stuff like all those shiney buses running around half empty, and the cool Smart boards that the teachers don't have a clue how to use. The kids have to pay more and more for things that our tax dollars were supposed to pay. Teachers salaries are low, but have you ever wondered what the upper admin gets paid? So lets cut back on Teachers, lets see what over crowded classrooms will be like for our kids. Just as long as all those fancy high dollar cars over at the Administration building don't get replaced by common, average cars. Gotta keep up appearances right?

March 2010 still waiting

In these hard times it occurs to me that, while I feel bad for myself as I am going through some very hard times. Perhaps things aren't as bad as they are for others. I don't have one single dime as my employer claims he wasn't able to pay me for work done for more than a couple months. But I have my family and I have my faith. Things can only get better right??? Right??? I say that as I look over my shoulder at a cold apartment with very little food left and a TV that decided all on its own to retire the other day. My truck was repossessed, but thanks to a friend and I do mean a true friend I got that back... for now. I look around and well what I do have is love from a wife and two wonderful girls who still think I'm their hero... Some hero, right?? I can't even afford the spandex that my big butt would need in order to take flight as a super hero... Maybe I could be... "Super Broke" yeah!!! Able to jump over a stack of bills in a single bound, able to scale an insurmountably tall stack of collection notices without even breaking a sweat! Ha Ha!! Whats left to do? Just laugh and try harder tomorrow. After all isn't it God who said we are due tests to examine our faith? Isn't it God who said he is not surprised by anything for he is all knowing? Perhaps if I pray hard enough he will let me in on the little secret and then we can all have a big old laugh about how the joke was on me.
